Willard Gordon Wyman (1898-1969) was born in Augusta, Missouri. He attended Bowdoin College in 1917, and was commissioned in the Coast Artillery Corps from West Point in 1919. During World War II, Wyman was assigned to several posts including Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations in 1942 and Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at Allied Force Headquarters from 1942 to 1943.
